Calvin Becker is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, & poet from Calgary, AB, Canada.
From 1993 to 1997, he was a member of the indie rock group The Grooveyard (on drums, guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals) releasing the album Urban Tales on the Canadian label Metanoia Records and independently releasing a second album entitled The Grooveyard.
From 1996 to 1997, Calvin played drums and keyboards in the band Bobby McAlister & the Telstars.
From 1997 to 2001, he was part of the R&B group the Earthtones (as drummer and songwriter). The group was nominated for a Canadian Juno in 1995 & 1997 and released music as part of an international recording deal with German-based Edel Records in 2000.
He played drums, keyboards and sang background vocals in the blues rock trio Bluessmyth who toured Canada from 2001 to 2006 supporting their two independently released albums.
In 2004, he released an instrumental album entitled Center of the Circle on the Los Angeles-based record label Harmonic Tremors.
From 2009 to 2010, he was a member the pop rock duo Becker Hutchings (on drums, keyboards, mandolin, and vocals) releasing The Difference Between Jam and Jelly with the song "Back to Me" on radio in Canada.
In 2011, Calvin Becker released the solo EP The Art of Jaywalking with the songs "I Wish You All the Happiness" and "What If You Came to Me?" played on radio in the U.K., USA, and Canada.
In 2015, he released his 2nd solo EP Histories of Things to Come with songs being played on the radio in the U.K., Germany, USA, and Canada.
In December 2022, Calvin released his 3rd solo EP The Lonely Carousel garnering radio play in the U.K, USA, and Canada.
Calvin's poems have been published in the USA (Maryland, Illinois, Oregon, New York, Iowa, Florida) and Canada (Alberta, British Columbia).
